Beauty Brand Breakdown: Seasun Society

What is Seasun Society?
Seasun Society is a skincare brand from Thailand that produces island-inspired beauty products. The brand creates vegan, cruelty-free formulas that uses natural oils and concentrated plant extracts to restore, nourish and heal. The name “Seasun Society” aptly evokes beach-life vibes, given that products are designed with the aim of helping users achieve relaxed, carefree confidence.
Seasun Society Origins
Founder Madi Ross (Image source: Seasun Society)
Seasun Society was founded in 2020 by model Madi Ross and model-manager Lak Kulnthomyotin, after they bonded over their shared experiences in the commercial modelling industry and their mutual love for surfing. The duo both noticed lack of diversity in Asian skincare marketing, which tended to favour fair skin, and wanted to create their own skincare brand, Seasun Society that would embrace and champion beauty in all skin tones.
Beauty Ethos
Seasun Society celebrates beauty in all forms and in all skin tones, and does not promote skin whitening or changing who you are. Consequently, products are naturally-formulated and designed for all skin tones, with the aim of encouraging confidence in one’s own skin.
Product Portfolio
Seasun Society sells a range of skincare products for both the face and body, such as facial and hair oils, serums and cleansers. The brand also borrows from traditional Chinese medicinal practices, and sells its own Gua Sha tools to be used alongside its facial oils. All its products are 100% vegan, cruelty free, and formulated without parabens.

Why We’re Interested
Seasun Society tropics-inspired aesthetics and natural oil infused products adds a touch of effortless surfer-girl-cool to your skincare shelf. We like that the brand embraces a diversity of skin tones and is all about creating alternative narratives of what beautiful skin in Asia should mean, focusing more on holistically on nourishing the skin through gentle hydration.
That said, given the brand’s close association with the beach life and founder Madi Ross’ being a self-confessed surfer girl, we were quite surprised that the brand has yet to branch into sun care - the fundamental step of skincare for any sea and sun lover in our opinion! We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled!
